Long Melford is an historic village, which contains a wealth of fine period houses and cottages along its linear settlement, one of the longest in England. It has an excellent range of facilities including a doctor's surgery, primary school, many pubs and restaurants and a good range of shops. The nearby market town of Sudbury and historic Bury St. Edmunds to the north each provide a further range of facilities, together with road and rail connections to London and the surrounding area.
