Station Terrace is a row of five cottages that were built by the Railway Company in the 19th Century, within 100 yards of Penybont Station, which is now just a request halt (normally 10 trains daily (Shrewsbury to Swansea Line). The cottage has a Southerly aspect, it fronts onto the A44 and has fine views to front and rear over farmland. The village of Crossgates is set at the junction of the A44 and A483 and has a Primary School, Community Centre and Service Station (with café and convenience store) within ¾-mile and there is a traditional pub at Penybont (1¼miles). The County Town of and administrative centre of Powys is 4 miles and has a range of shopping and business facilities, Tesco Superstore, Aldi Supermarket, successful schools Hospital, Sports Centre, theatre, active U3A, indoor and outdoor bowls (International quality), renowned 18-hole Golf Course (with Driving Range), Game and Coarse fishing. The market towns of Builth Wells, Rhayader, Knighton and Newtown are approximately 11, 9, 15 and 24 miles distant, with Hereford and Aberystwyth about an hour's drive.
