Aurora is an elegant Grade II Listed period building which is situated just off the seafront and with all the amenities of the town centre within easy reach. The building has more recently been the subject of an extensive renovation - a two year project done in conjunction with English Heritage. The building was at one time the summer retreat of the author JRR Tolkien who wrote part of the Lord of the Rings here.

This apartment occupies the entire top (third) floor of the building and enjoys fine sea views from all the principal rooms. From the communal hallway, the front door opens to a private staircase with useful storage cupboards, leading up to the main hallway. Here, there is a built-in cupboard with plumbing for an automatic washing machine.
The sitting room benefits from a south-west aspect with sea views, while the fitted kitchen/breakfast room offers a practical and inviting space. The double bedroom is generously proportioned and features two large built-in cupboards. The bathroom enjoys an east-facing outlook across the Bowling Green towards Salcombe Hill and also houses the gas central heating boiler.

All windows throughout the apartment are double-glazed.

Outside
To the front of the property is gravelled parking exclusively reserved for residents, providing convenient and hassle-free access.

Directions
To find Aurora from the Bedford Hotel on the seafront, take the B3186 Station Road (signposted Exeter and Honiton) past the car park, bowling green, and croquet lawn on the left. Opposite the turning into Fortfield Terrace, turn right. Go past the bus stop and immediately before the no-entry sign is the access to Kennaway House on the left. Aurora is located behind Kennaway house, if you proceed to the rear you will find parking available.

Location
Sidmouth is an elegant Regency coastal town which is home to attractive beaches, stylish eating places and great shopping. Sitting in a valley between Peak Hill to the West and Salcombe Hill to the East, it is surrounded by the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is on the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site and the South West Coast Path.
Schools are plentiful and medical facilities are excellent, with a surgery and small hospital in the town centre, plus a new, modern health centre on the outskirts of town close to the popular Waitrose supermarket. Transport links are good with regular bus services to Exeter and Honiton with its rail links to London Waterloo. The Cathedral City of Exeter, with its International Airport and access to the M5 is only 16 miles to the West.
