Situation
Knowle is a hamlet in the favoured East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB), close to the coast and with an abundance of walks through sleepy lanes and woodland trails. It lies just 2 miles from the centre of the charming and sought after seaside town of Budleigh Salterton which is a wonderful coastal town on the World Heritage Jurassic coastline. The beautiful two mile long beach, framed by the picturesque sandstone cliffs, is renowned for its pebbles and wonderful vistas, and is considered one of the most desirable coastal locations in the UK. There are a wealth of facilities befitting a town of its importance including shops, pubs, restaurants, theatre, sailing, croquet, bowls, tennis, shooting and cricket clubs plus East Devon Golf Club. The cathedral and university city of Exeter is only 14.3 miles away and offers an extensive range of facilities and schooling.
