Gestingthorpe is a most attractive village set close to the Essex/Suffolk borders in the Belchamp Brook valley. There is a village green, parish church and public house and a number of most attractive period houses and cottages. Nearby Bulmer has a highly regarded primary school and the market towns of Sudbury and Halstead each offer further schools, together with a good range of shops and recreational amenities. Braintree and Colchester are within easy drive providing fast trains through to London's Liverpool Street. From Braintree there is a fast road linking through to the new A120 dual carriageway, giving very easy access to Stansted Airport and the M11 motorway.
