Description

2-4 Cross Hayes is a unique and striking Grade II listed period home situated in the very heart of the sought-after market town of Malmesbury with its ancient Abbey, delightful High Street and excellent amenities.

The property comprises two homes which are currently separated but were previously linked and therefore could be easily configured once again as one larger home if required. The property has evolved over the years with extensions and alterations combining an intriguing mixture of architecture which boasts a wealth of character throughout enhanced by a stunning contemporary glazed extension at the rear of the property overlooking the garden. The original part of the property was built in the 17th Century and was formerly the Shoe Public House until c.1800.

Across the first and second floors there are five bedrooms and four stylish bathrooms as well as a versatile entertainment room.

In addition to the magnificent accommodation, there is a superb, larger than average garden reaching over 100ft towards the ancient town walls with views to the water meadows valley below. The garden is landscaped with a sizable, paved terrace complete with external lighting, a lawn with established shrub borders providing good privacy and a further terrace at the far end beside a stone roofed pergola with power and stone-built garden store. There are various parking options within the town.

Main line rail services are available from Chippenham and Kemble (Paddington in about 75 minutes).
