Location
Nupend Cottage is on the doorstep of the Gloucestershire Way - a public footpath which leads through the Forest of Dean, Severn Plain and Cotswolds and links with the Wye Valley Walk and Offa's Dyke Path National Trail. As a result, there are many beautiful walks nearby. Longhope's popular The Forest Bakehouse, which stocks artisan bread, pastries and cakes, is also a short distance away, giving hikers a perfect stop to load up on goodies.

In addition, Longhope features a village shop and Post Office, which stocks essential groceries, plus an active village hall - The Latchen Room, which sometimes opens as a pop-up cafe and there is also a nearby recreation ground for children to enjoy.

In terms of schooling, there are three primaries close to Nupend Cottage; Huntley Church of England Primary School has attained an 'Outstanding' Ofsted grading, while Hope Brook CofE Primary School and Mitcheldean Endowed Primary School both carry a 'Good' Ofsted Grading. Directions
From Ross-on-Wye, take the A40 through Weston under Penyard and Ryeford. Then, just after you enter Lea, take the B4224 to Mitcheldean. At the first roundabout - next to the Lining Wood housing estate - take the first exit. At the end of the road, turn right and, at the roundabout next to The Lamb Inn, take the first exit.
Follow the A4136 and take the left-hand turning for Longhope then take the first left and turn onto Nupend Lane. Nupend Cottage is situated around 200 yards up the road, on the right-hand side.
