Park House, it is believed, began life as a barn and was converted to a house in the Victorian period. Many of the original features including the living room marble fireplace, kitchen inglenook, high ceilings and well-proportioned window openings, all date from this period giving it character, a sense of proportion and well laid out accommodation over the two floors. The whole property is double glazed and has mains gas central heating giving some mod-cons to this beautiful home.

We love the attractive tiled entrance hall which certainly sets the tone for the rest of the house. There’s a large storage cupboard too which potentially could be enlarged to create a ground floor WC. The hall gives access to the warm and inviting living room, boasting an open fireplace and large bay window. The kitchen/dining room, located at the rear, gives a large, light and sociable space with its split level island and plenty of room to eat and entertain. The character is clear to see with the range cooker set within the original inglenook. Double doors lead out to the sheltered south facing patio and generous garden beyond. To complete the ground floor is a useful utility room with a further door to the garden.

The first floor accommodation includes four bedrooms, three of which are doubles. The master bedroom is extensive and has an original window seat, overlooking the garden at the rear. The other two double bedrooms have window seats, exposed beams and built in storage cupboards and the fourth bedroom is a good sized single with an attractive outlook to the neighbouring fields. The family bathroom is beautifully finished and includes a modern bath with central taps, a separate shower cubicle & heated towel rail.

Outside and the property is set back from the cul-de-sac by a small walled, front garden with black iron railings and gate. There is a wonderful double garage (5.72m x 5.11m) which benefits from light and power, plus additional off-road parking for three to four cars. This is a very rare addition for a house of this type. Also worth a mention is the skate ramp built in the garage, this maybe desirable for some or could be removed by the new owner if preferred. The south-facing rear garden extends to 90’ and there’s a paved seating area ideal for barbecues and entertaining, then two areas of lawn. The rear section of the garden also has raised beds, a summerhouse and a useful rear access.
